Winter is certainly not everyone’s favorite seasons, and for a lot of people it’s actually a time of year they dread. After things like Christmas and New Year party season are over, then winter is pretty bleak for the most part and just causes a lot of inconvenience and chaos – depending on where you live, of course.
If you’re one of the many people who simply can’t wait for the warmer months of spring and summer to arrive, then you not have to wait as long as you think.
In recent years, the number of people escaping to sunnier climates has been massively on the rise, and with good reason, so if this is something that’s appealing to you, then in this post we’re going to share with you some of our tips for the top vacation destinations where you can get that much-needed winter sun.
The Canary Islands:
The Canary islands are one of the most popular places in Europe for people to get some winter sun since it doesn’t really get the same climate as the rest of the continent due to being located so close to the tip of North Africa, so they benefit from warm and dry winters that are, although not tropical, far more mild and see far more sunshine than most places do. Flights from the UK and continental Europe are relatively cheap and accessible all year round, and many great offers can be found for the winter months.
This is one of the top places in the world to come if you love the heat, since Dubai never really gets cold – or at least not by the standards of someone who lives in a colder climate with 4 seasons. Dubai is probably more enjoyable during the winter months since the heat isn’t anywhere near as intense as it would be in the summer, but it’s still warm enough to go swimming and just generally enjoy some great weather that helps you escape from the harsh winter back home.
For those of you looking to escape winter altogether, then Australia is the perfect choice since they experience summer in the southern hemisphere when the northern hemisphere is having winter. That means it’s definitely going to be at its hottest during the months of December and January, but if sun is what you’re looking for and you don’t mind the long journey, then there’s no better choice than heading down under to escape the horrid weather.
Well-known for its nickname of the sunshine state, Florida experiences more hours of sunshine all year than pretty much anywhere in North America, so it’s an ideal destination if you’re looking to soak up the rays that you’ve been missing elsewhere. Of course it can get a little chilly at nighttime, and most locals will tell you it’s freezing, but if you’re coming from somewhere that gets true winters and seasons, then you’ll probably find Florida during winter to be the ideal climate to enjoy some winter sun.
